Signing Policy And Fees
Alan Bean I appreciate your desire to have your photo or other space memorabilia signed, and I am glad to do so. Since my primary goal each day is to paint beautiful and historically accurate paintings of humankind's first exploration of another world, opening, signing, waiting for the writing to dry, sealing, coordinating pick-up, and returning the items to FedEx takes me away from painting and I therefore charge the following for these services: IMPORTANT NOTE If you send something to be signed inside a box, it must come by FedEx Express. The box must include a filled-out return FedEx Express Air Waybill so I can sign your item and attach the return Air Waybill and coordinate with FedEx to pick it up. ANOTHER IMPORTANT NOTE Please send either cash or a check on a US Bank to cover the fees below.
Open and sign (Alan Bean, Apollo 12) 8" X 10" photos or thin, flat items (except covers) and place them into an included self-addressed and properly stamped envelope. If you want me to write more words on your photo, the fee is $10 per word, except the letters a and I. If the photos come in a box, see important note about returning boxes.
Open and sign large photos, books, maps, baseballs, moon globes and other 3-Dimensional items (see note above about the fee for writing additional words and also see important note about returning boxes)
Open and sign covers or cards and put them in an included self-addressed envelope (see important note about returning boxes)
Open and sign Beta Cloth patches or name tags (See important note about returning boxes)
Open and sign a NASA Flight Document or sign any NASA Equipment If you would like me to provide a signed photo, your cost will be $50 + $300 = $350. You must include a self-addressed and properly stamped envelope for an 8" x 10" photo. If you would like me to use my iPhone to photograph me signing your item and Emailing it to you, the fee is $150 per photo. If you want me to use your camera, the fee is $100 per photo.
In addition to the above fees, there is an additional charge of $75 to provide for the time required to fill out the Customs forms you do not have, and coordinate with FedEx. Also you must send an international money order or a check from a US Bank for the fees above. Most foreign Banks have a business relationship with a US Bank and can issue checks to me from that US Bank.
